How we protect your files and data

End-to-End Encryption

File contents are encrypted by the native client before upload and decrypted on the device when downloaded. File-content encryption is distinct from account information, service metadata, and the local search index.

On Your Device

Local search uses an on-device index. That index can contain filenames and extracted text; it is separate from encrypted file uploads. Keep your device and account protected.

Development Status

SLIK is in development. This page describes the file-content encryption boundary; it does not claim independent security certification or an audit of the complete service.
